Terms of Use

Effective September 9, 2026

These terms cover this website and the estimate form on it. They are short on purpose. The work we do in your home is covered by the written contract you sign, not by this page, and nothing here takes away a right California law gives you.

Who you are dealing with

This website is published by Essential Flooring Inc, a California corporation run by Alexandru Szep, holding California contractor license CSLB #1117565 in class C-15, Flooring and Floor Covering. The full details, and the link to check them on the state register, are in the box at the bottom of this page. Using the site means you accept the terms below. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

What this site is, and what it is not

The site describes the flooring work we do, shows photographs of jobs we have finished, and gives you a way to ask for a free estimate. That is all it is.

  • Nothing on the site is a price, a binding offer or a contract. Sending the form does not book anything and does not oblige either of us to anything.
  • Nothing on the site is professional advice about your particular floor. Which material suits your rooms, and whether your subfloor is sound, is something we can only tell you after looking at it.
  • Descriptions of materials come from what manufacturers publish and from our own experience. Products change. Treat them as a guide to the conversation, not as a specification.

Estimates

Our estimate is free and carries no obligation. We visit, measure, look at the subfloor and give you a written quote. You are not charged for the visit, we do not take a deposit to produce a quote, and you are free to say no.

If you go ahead, the work is done under a written home improvement contract signed by both of us. California law sets out what that contract has to contain, including the payment schedule, the limit on the down payment, the mechanics lien warning and your right to cancel. Those points are summarized on our Cancellations and Refunds page. Where this website and your signed contract say different things, your contract is the one that counts.

Using the form fairly

The estimate form is for genuine enquiries about flooring work. Please do not use it to send advertising, to submit somebody else's details without their knowledge, or to send automated traffic. We limit how many requests one internet connection can send in a short window, so heavy automated use simply stops working. Everything the form collects, and how long we keep it, is set out in our Privacy Policy.

Please also do not try to break into any part of the site, copy it wholesale with an automated tool, or interfere with how it works for other people.

Photographs, text and who owns them

  • Our job photographs. Every picture presented as our work, including the before and after pairs and the portfolio, was taken on our own jobs and belongs to Essential Flooring Inc. They show finished floors, not people, and we do not publish customer names or street addresses with them.
  • Illustration photographs. Seven pictures on the site are stock photographs, used only as illustration and never captioned as a job of ours. They are licensed under the Pexels License, which allows commercial use and does not require credit. We credit them anyway, below, so that you can tell at a glance which few pictures are not our own work.
  • Text, design, logo and icons. Ours, or licensed to us. The typefaces are open source and served from our own server.
  • Reviews. The reviews on the site were written by our customers on our Google Business Profile and belong to the people who wrote them. We reproduce them unedited and link to the originals.

You are welcome to link to any page here, and to quote a short passage with a link back. Please do not copy the photographs, the text or the design onto another site, or present our finished jobs as somebody else's work. If you believe something on this site infringes your copyright, write to essentialflooring16@gmail.com with the details and we will take it down while we look into it.

The seven stock photographs, and who took them

Every other photograph on the site was taken on one of our own jobs.

Links to other sites

We link to our Google Business Profile, to Instagram and Facebook, to WhatsApp, and to the Contractors State License Board. Those are other companies running their own sites under their own rules. Once you follow a link you are on their site, and we are not responsible for what is on it or what they do with your information.

Keeping the site right, and the site being available

We write the site carefully and correct mistakes as soon as we hear about them, but we cannot promise that every word is free of error or that the site is always reachable. It is hosted by a third party and it can go down. If you spot something wrong, tell us and we will fix it.

As far as California law allows, Essential Flooring Inc is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of this website, such as a decision taken on the strength of a page without speaking to us first. This paragraph is about the website. It does not limit our responsibility for the work we actually carry out for you, which is governed by your contract and by the law, and it does not limit anything that cannot be limited by law.

Accessibility

This site is built and tested against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, version 2.2, level AA. It works with a keyboard alone, respects a reduced motion setting, and every photograph carries a description. Automated testing is not the same as a full audit, so if anything on the site does not work for you, call (916) 425-1361 or write to essentialflooring16@gmail.com. We will fix it, and in the meantime we will give you the same information another way.

Your rights as a consumer

Nothing on this page limits your rights under California law. That includes the right to cancel a home improvement contract signed in your home, the limit on what a contractor may take as a down payment, and your right to complain to the Contractors State License Board about a licensed contractor. All three are explained on our Cancellations and Refunds page.

Which law applies

These terms are governed by the law of the State of California. We work in the Sacramento region and any dispute about this website would be dealt with in the California courts. If a court finds one sentence here unenforceable, the rest still stands.

Changes

If we change these terms, the new version is posted here with a new date at the top. We do not keep visitor accounts or a mailing list, so this page is the only place a change is announced.
