How does the free estimate work?
Call (916) 425-1361 or email essentialflooring16@gmail.com to set a time. We visit your home, measure the space, look at the subfloor, and talk through materials and finishes. You get a clear written quote with no obligation and no hidden fees. It costs nothing, and you decide from there at your own pace.
How long does a typical floor installation take?
Every project is different, so timing depends on the size of the space, the material, and how much prep the subfloor needs. A single room can often be done in a day or two, while whole-home installations and hardwood refinishing take longer. You receive a clear timeline with your estimate, and we stick to it.
Is furniture moving included in the price?
It depends on the project, so we discuss it during your free estimate. Some homeowners prefer to clear rooms themselves, while others want help with larger pieces. Either way, you will know exactly what is included before work begins, and it will be listed clearly in your written quote.
Will hardwood refinishing fill my house with dust?
Far less than you might expect. Our modern sanding equipment uses dust containment that captures most dust at the source, so your home stays much cleaner than with older methods. We also cover vents and doorways where needed and clean up thoroughly before applying stain and protective finish.
What flooring works best in kitchens and bathrooms?
For wet areas we usually recommend LVP installation. Luxury vinyl plank is 100 percent waterproof, so spills, splashes, and humidity will not warp or swell it, and it comes in wood and stone looks that suit any style. Moisture resistant laminate can also work in the right spaces. We will walk you through the options during your free estimate.
Which floors hold up best with pets and kids?
LVP and vinyl plank are excellent choices for busy households. They are 100 percent waterproof, scratch resistant, and easy to clean after muddy paws and spilled juice. Laminate is another durable, budget friendly option. If you love the look of hardwood, we can recommend finishes that stand up well to daily wear. Tell us about your household and we will match the floor to your life.
How should I prepare for installation day?
We will give you a simple checklist ahead of time. In general, remove small and fragile items from the work area, plan for pets to stay in another room, and keep a clear path to the space. Anything else, like furniture or appliance moving, will be agreed on during your estimate, so nothing catches you off guard on the day.
Is Essential Flooring licensed and insured?
Yes. Essential Flooring holds California CSLB License #1117565 and carries insurance, so your project and your home are protected. Hiring a licensed flooring contractor means the work meets state requirements and you have real recourse if anything goes wrong. You can verify our license anytime on the CSLB website.
What areas do you serve?
We serve the greater Sacramento region, including Sacramento, Roseville, Folsom, Citrus Heights, Rancho Cordova, Carmichael, Antelope, Orangevale, Fair Oaks, Granite Bay, Lincoln, Loomis, North Highlands, Rio Linda, Arden-Arcade, and Yuba City. For select projects we also travel to San Francisco, the SF Bay Area, Orange County, and South Lake Tahoe. Not sure if you are in range? Just call and ask.
Are there any hidden fees in your quotes?
No. Your written quote lists everything the project includes, from floor removal and subfloor preparation to baseboard work and the flooring itself. The price you approve is the price you pay. If something unexpected comes up once the old floor is out, we talk it through with you and get your approval before any extra work happens.
